| Spaceball started out as a man that wanted nothing more than to be noticed. He tried to gain the attention of others by attempting to do menial good deeds then telling others of his triumphs. Unfortunately for Stacey, no one was interested and he became a bother to everyone he came in contact with. Because of the constant rejection he found other means of gaining attention. He thought that becoming a villain may be the answer. So he began stealing French fries from unsuspecting food junkies; stealthily swiping a single fry until the hungry luncher was left with nothing but a greasy container. This snack-ninja’s portentous behavior became so stealthy that eventually none of his peers noticed his annoying attempts for attention. He did, however, gain the interest of law enforcement. Stacey was arrested, tried, and sentenced to Dr. Mendle Gregerson’s program Villains Anonymous to be rehabilitated for his treacherous conduct. Mendle decides to take Stacey and transform him into his own personal sitcom. Mendle gives Stacey a mask and the name Spaceball and promises that once the mask is worn he will finally be noticed. Mendle knows (and takes delight in the fact) that the mask he has given Spaceball only feeds into his fear of not getting consideration for his attempts at heroism. The mask will render him completely invisible until a time when someone notices him. As Spaceball wears the mask, he wonders why he is still not being noticed despite Mendle’s constant reassurance that the mask is indeed working. The conflict within Spaceball is slowly driving him insane. Since accepting the persona of Spaceball, our beloved character encountered his first, and only, run-in with ToteMan. While ToteMan, disguised as a villain, was investigating Dr. Mendle Gregorson’s rehabilitation clinic he accidently sat on Spaceball. There was only one “empty” seat in the waiting room, but Spaceball unknowingly inhabited the seat ToteMan tried to occupy. |
